AVEDA PLANT PEELS WITH ELIZABETH

Facials can be the ultimate way to “treat yourself,” but combined with Aveda’s plant peel, your skin will feel extra special.

Chemical peels might sound scary at first. Because we’ve seen the benefits first hand and know how beneficial these peels can be for the skin, we wanted to share the Plant Peel with you today. These Plant Peels let you reap the benefits of a chemical peel in a new, aPEELing way.

WHO ARE THESE FOR?

Plant Peels are a good option for anyone dealing with skin issues such as large pores, wrinkles, dark spots, acne scars, oily skin, and more. In fact, many people turn to these peels as an alternative to Botox or injections. Our esthetician, Elizabeth, has seen results in her guests as the peel works to shrink pores, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, lighten dark spots or acne scars, and produce less shiny or oily skin. In fact, you may not even find yourself considering Botox anymore after a handful of these!

WHAT DO THEY DO?

These peels exfoliate and wash away the dead skin cells leftover. Simply put, these peels are getting rid of the dead layer of skin that’s leading to clogged pores and other skin issues. After your facial with the Plant Peel, you’ll have nothing but fresh, new, clear skin that is glowing and soft to the touch.

The peels are able to dissolve sebum, the oil that makes your face appear oily and shiny, and can get rid of pesky bumps that lead to an unsmooth surface. Additionally, they bring out the dirt, oil, and other “gunk” trapped far beneath the skin’s surface to clear skin and help prevent future breakouts.

Plant Peels can also help to resurface the skin from sun damage. By exfoliating the top layer of skin and stimulating fresh skin, you may notice the spots and damage getting lighter and lighter with each treatment. Chemical exfoliants work to balance out combination skin, leaving you with a more even feel rather than the oily T-zone and dry cheeks that many of us deal with.

WHAT IS IT LIKE?

Plant Peels are offered during any of our facials and take place as the exfoliation step of a 30, 60, or 90 minute facial. Afterwards, a clay or cooling mask may be applied to comfort the skin. Additionally, Elizabeth adds intense hydration so you won’t leave feeling that tight, dry feeling that can come from too much exfoliation.

HOW DO I PREPARE?

Beforehand, we recommend not using any products with retinol or any scrubs for at least three days. These peels are not able to be done on those who are on Proactiv or Accutane, as the skin may be more susceptible to dryness or discomfort. If you have any concerns about the medication you’re on, just check with us beforehand.

We recommend having these peels done during the fall and winter when you’re more likely to be out of the sun. After the peel, limit sun exposure. If you need to be in the sun, be sure to wear proper sun protection, ideally Aveda’s serum sunscreen, to protect the skin.

Elizabeth recommends that guests have a series of 3-6 peels done, four weeks apart. To get a consultation, ask questions, or find out if this Plant Peel is right for you, contact us today at 757.253.7674. We’d love to get you and your skin feeling your best for fall and beyond!
